Trade terms

Three practical ways to structure delivery

These Incoterms® 2020 summaries are non-exhaustive buying guidance. Final responsibilities, named place and costs are subject to the agreed sales contract.

FOB
Free On Board

Buyers managing the main sea carriage

We arrange export clearance and delivery on board at the named Chinese port; the buyer arranges the main carriage and onward responsibilities.

CIF
Cost, Insurance and Freight

Buyers requesting arranged sea freight to a named port

We arrange sea freight and the required minimum cargo insurance to the named destination port; risk and destination responsibilities follow the agreed Incoterms® 2020 rule.

DDP
Delivered Duty Paid

Eligible shipments requiring delivery to an agreed destination

Where destination-country conditions allow, we can quote delivery with export and import formalities allocated to the seller up to the named place, ready for unloading.

Reference

Incoterms® rules allocate delivery tasks, costs and risk between seller and buyer; they do not replace a complete sales contract.
